Monday, April 15th, Day 1

Congratulations to the 113 EWS Band students who represented our school so well at the PEI Band Days festival yesterday at UPEI.
Both the Gr 8 and the Gr 9 bands had excellent performances and earned very positive adjudications.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen yesterday!  Gr 8 and 9 Band students will have pizza at lunch on Monday in the band room to celebrate. Grade 9 Band early am practice tomorrow.  Grade 7 am band cancelled.

Culture and Diversity Group - A group for students of all backgrounds to support each other in having their experiences shared in a safe space. This group is open to all grades and is meant for everyone. Day 1 @ 12:15-12:45 


Album Club - Similar to book club, Album club is meant for students to learn and diversify their knowledge on genres and artists they've not heard of yet. Every cycle an album is chosen by vote, and at the next meeting the group will discuss their thoughts, feelings, and critiques on the album. This is open to all grades Day 4 @ 12:15-12:45 


The Tech Leadership group meets at lunch on Day 1 in room 101 (Mr. K's room) and is open to grades 7-9.
Tech Leadership is looking for keen students to work on projects like:
•    continuing to make our school and curriculum accessible for all through 3D design and printing
•    designing and making new Warriors swag (clothing, stickers, etc.)
•    designing and making stickers/decals/labels/posters

Yellow dental consent forms have been going home.  Please return to the dental clinic as soon as possible.

Guitar Club – Days 3 & 5 @ 12:15pm in the Music Room on the stage.  All levels are welcome.  Signup outside the office. 

Sci-Fi Tabletop Game Club – Days 2 & 6 @ 12:15pm in the Hub 

Kitchen Brigades – Every Tuesday after school

THE GENDER SEXUALITY ALLIANCE, OR GSA (STUDENT CLUB) at lunch, in Ms. Perry’s room #807. This is a drop-in club that anyone can join, any time in the year. It is a place for students to hang out, plan events, and talk about issues impacting 2SLGBTQ+ members of the community. Meetings will be every day 4.
The intramural doubles tournament will continue today during the first session at lunch. We will have free play badminton for the second session. Please check the schedule in the lobby or in the gymnasium. 
Badminton Team Information: 
The zone 3 badminton meet will take place next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Doubles will be played on Monday and singles will follow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Taxis will be provided at 3PM on Monday to get players to their event.

Bantam Girls (Grades 7/8)– Queen Charlotte
Bantam Boys (Grades 7/8) – Stonepark
Intermediate (Girls Grade 9) – Birchwood
Intermediate Boys (Grade 9)– East Wiltshire 
Arrival time 3:30 games start at 4:00pm

GIRLS SOFTBALL TRYOUTS: Weather depending, tryouts will take place Tuesday, April 16th & Wednesday, April 17th 4:00-5:00 PM here at EWS fields. Players must have a permission form filled out  – they are available in the lobby. 


East Wiltshire sports practice schedule – April 15th – April 18th                 
The weekly schedule for EWS Athletics can be found below.  There is a fee to play each sport.  It can be paid by cash or set up a payment through the office.  You can contact me at agmacadam@edu.pe.ca to confirm if paid or not, or to make an arrangement.

The AA Girls basketball team is the only team still playing.  Therefore, I need to get the other 3 teams’ uniforms passed in as soon as possible.  Thanks to those who passed them in already.

Athletics Forms are in the lobby.  Any student wishing to play Spring Sports this year must have a permission form filled out by a parent or guardian and passed in before the first practice.
